Originally designed as a fast-rolling bike park tyre, the Griffin is now available in lightweight EXO and DoubleDown constructions for trail and enduro bikes. Tightly spaced and heavily ramped knobs allow this tire to quickly get up to speed, while standard knob height allows the tire to dig through powdery climbs and provide ample braking if you come in hot on a blind switchback. With this much speed on tap, you have no choice but to take flight with the Griffin.

Technology

Double Down (DD) - Butyl reinforced 120 TPI dual-ply enduro racing technology

DoubleDown (DD) is the next step in the evolution of the dual-ply tyre casing for enduro racing. Two 120 TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert provide the enduro racer with the support and protection of a downhill tyre, but in a lighter package.

Tyre Construction

Tubeless Ready tyre

Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube.

Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tyres: Tubeless Road, tubular, and tubeless Ready. The use of liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tyre will void the warranty.

Compound

Provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than 3C MaxxGrip

An intermediate compiund configuration used in select mountain tyres. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than 3C MaxxGrip.
